THIS TOOK FOR EVA!!!!!!! It's got to be one of the most detailed/largest project I've ever drawn digitally! *.* But did I love it every step of the way!? YES!
The project was done for my AP art class, we were suppose to pick a current issue that's happening in today's world and we had the option to either draw out the future (of said issue) as being solved or worsened in the future....and the emo-kid inside me chose the issue of deforestation ...getting worse.

I hate to be narcissistic but it's TRUE. Although us humans are reaping the benefits through technology, animal life and nature itself are suffering as a consequence. People and corporations aren't using technology in harmony with nature, our population keeps growing but not our connection to the Earth = a backwards spiral for wildlife AND humans. The Amazon Rainforest is practically being CHOPPED TO BITS, Glaciers in Alaska are melting more rapidly each year, and the deforestation epidemic in Africa (once a green paradise) is 'on the fence' as more eroding desert takes over. All of this has a devestating effect on the environment and our health.
and it's not just huge areas of land that are suffering, it's in our own backyards as well....In America and some parts of Europe there is this dumb-ass/ignorant system put in place to kill off so many wolves, coyotes and foxes because (apparently) THEY'RE invading OUR land. But thats, quite frankly, BULLSHIT; it is the reverse, we're the ones taking THEIR territory, calling it our own, and then blaming them for assimilating and raiding our trashcans. And this mindset appears to be a pandemic; anywhere people move, for whatever reason the wildlife THAT WAS ALREADY THERE is considered the issue to be eliminated.

But for the focus of this piece, my main priority was the African Wild Dog. It's a unique one of a kind animal in the canine family, and they are facing the same problems as their wolf ancestors; people claiming THEIR territroy as 'human land' and then gunning them down because they crossed over the boundary fences - most often for food. It's become a crisis; the 'designated zones' for the Wilddogs isn't enough land for them to function properly, basics such as shelter and hunting grounds are slowly being stripped from their territory, therefore, the wilddogs attempt to adapt by sneaking into human populated territory, and 9x out of 10 they'll be shot dead on.

SO my basic point of the piece is; if we continue this JACKED UP way of thinking, and continue to build and advance but not make it nature friendly, their will be hardly anything left. The flying cars, voice activated homes and fancy-futuristic cities will be nice...but Species will go extinct and habitats will be destroyed. We'll probably all be eating synthetic garbage made to taste like real food because resources are so drained supporting herds will be obsolete.
Human expansion, without common-sense or care for the Earth, will be an animals worst nightmare......

I do believe it is a issue and that something needs to be done about it. however, I'm hopeful of a positive future.
